On June 26, DSIC officially declares that the shipbuilding contracts for 2 319000DWT VLCCs and 5 72000DWT product/ crude oil tankers have been signed with COSCO Dalian under COSCO group. This is another new order for oil tankers in a month, which is a successive success in product management.
　
The shiptype of 319000DWT VLCC is the new generation of brand with great market competitiveness, independently developed by DSIC, Loa: abt. 333m, Breadth Mld.: 60m, Max. DWT: 31.9 t, able to load 2million barrels of crude oil via Malacca Strait @ design draft of 20.5m. Its energy saving feature is outstanding, based the excellent hull form, together equipped with more economic G-type M/E and new large-diameter high-efficiency propeller, and the composite pre- and post-propeller energy-efficient devices with independent property right as well, whose fuel oil consumption index of this shiptype is world leading, with an obvious energy-saving effect verified by the famous model test tanks domestic and abroad.
　
The 72000DWT product/crude oil tanker is another type of energy-saving ship following VLCC and AFRAMAX, latest developed for marketing by DSIC. During its development, DSIC has followed up the world technical development and market trend, and successfully worked out the LR1 oil tankers with characteristics of wide beam, shallow draft, large hold capacity and low energy, etc., focusing on safety, environment protection and energy saving. The development and design of this shiptype has taken into full account of various requirements from ship owners, the rules and regulations, and international conventions to be met, newly effective or to be effective, which has been deeply favored by the shipowners domestic and abroad ,with strong technical advantages and market perspectiveness.
