On Jan.23, 2019, DSIC Steel Structure Company held a ceremony for completion of the first set of desulfurizing tower and steel cutting of new tower for 308k DWT VLOC constructed for Landbridge Group, where DSIC Deputy General Manager Deng Changlian and relevant leaders from Landbridge Group, Shandong Shipping Corporation, Shandong Hongxin Group, Korean DSEC Company, Shanghai TiM Company, the Agricultural Bank of China and major class societies attended the ceremony.
The body of this desulfurizing tower is a U-type design, 5.3 meters in diameter, 11meters in height and 20 tons in weight, whose major materials are super duplex stainless steel and super austenite stainless steel. CSIC No.711 Institute takes overall responsibility for this project and DSIC Steel Structure Company takes responsibility for fabrication of tower body which is also its first product of duplex stainless steel desulfurizing tower ever constructed.
In recent years,DSIC Steel Structure Company has done well in its major works while exploring external market positively and fruitfully, among which there are projects of desulfurizing towers for three 308k DWT VLOCs for Landbridge Group contracted in alliance with CSIC No.711 Institute. During the construction, they have fully prepared for manpower, technology and equipment, worked closely with various units for communication and cooperation, constantly optimized and improved design, technology and construction, completed 27 welding evaluation procedures, drawn up 20 workmanship and technical documents, developed out 22 dedicated production support tooling, issued 76 production design drawings and documents, and completed the construction task for the first set of desulfurizing tower ahead of schedule with high standards and high quality, which has greatly boosted DSIC’s influence on fabrication of ship desulfurizing towers in the industry and furnished valuable experiences in construction of follow-up products.
