On June 11, No. 12 ship “GOLDEN FORWARD”, the second 82,000dwt bulk carrier built by Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co. (SSIC) of DSIC, was completed and delivered to Frontline. This is the first ship delivered by SSIC since this year.
"GOLDEN FORWARD" was signed for delivery on the morning of June 10th.
Since returning to work after Chinese spring festival, SSIC has successively carried out the activities of "fighting against the epidemic, ensuring delivery of ships, grasping management and seeking development" and special labor competitions, set up the activity leading group to encourage and call on all units and employees to enhance the sense of responsibility and mission, and devote themselves to the production work. While firmly winning the battle of epidemic prevention and control, SSIC also won the battle of delivery guarantee.
In order to realize the trial node on schedule, SSIC has organized more than 150 party members and cadres to participate in the shell plate roughening project of the living area on the ship. According to the assigned area, the party members stood on the scaffold of more than 10 meters high with abrasive paper in their hands, grinding bit by bit, rubbing piece by piece, without passing over every detail.
In this activity, more than 600 square meters of shell plates in the living area were polished, accounting for 71% of the total area. The wall finish completely met the construction requirements, creating favorable conditions for the subsequent painting project of the ship. The party members have put the party flag in the forefront of production with practical actions, making the party emblem shine in the battle against the epidemic to ensure the delivery of ships.
After the return from the trial, the follow-up work was in full swing. Since May, continuous rainy weather has caused great impact on the painting. The project team made thorough arrangement and comprehensively sorted out all the work before delivery. The project team managers took root in the front line and directed ahead to ensure the orderly progress of production schedule.
After receiving the requirements of renovating the shell plate area from the ship owner, SSIC arranged the berths at the first time, and completed the renovation in only two days, which was well received by the ship owner and operating company.
During the whole process of construction, the Party members and cadres have given full play to their pioneering and exemplary role, and made arduous efforts to win the battle of delivering the ship. The shipowner spoke highly of the construction quality and performance of the ship as well as the services provided by SSIC in the construction.
